Buy your usual adidas size in the Samba, Gazelle, Campus 00s, Handball Spezial and SL 72: all five fit true to size in length. The difference is width. The Samba and SL 72 are narrow, so wide feet should go up half a size, while the Gazelle and Campus 00s are roomier, so narrow feet can go half a size down.

adidas size chart (US, UK, EU and cm)

Every model in this guide uses the standard adidas chart. Measure your foot, find your true adidas size below, then apply the model advice further down. Our listings show the US men's size with the US women's equivalent, for example "9 Men's (10 Women's)".

Do adidas Sambas, Gazelles and Campus 00s run true to size?

Yes. adidas lists the Samba OG, Gazelle Indoor and Campus 00s as "true to size" on its own product pages, with the note "We recommend ordering your usual size". The independent guides we checked agree on length. Where they differ is how each shoe fits across the forefoot, and that decides whether you should move half a size.

adidas Samba sizing

adidas's own Samba size guide says the shoe "does run true to size" but that "some people find them to be a bit narrow". Its advice for wide feet is to go up half a size. Sneaker Freaker and OPUMO both flag the same narrow fit, and OPUMO notes the length is true to size. French sneaker store The Last Step puts it simply: order your usual size, go half a size up for wide feet, and never size down.

You'll often hear that the Samba runs long. SoleFeed's guide says it feels a little long for its labelled size, yet it still recommends true to size, warning that half a size down "usually crushes the toes" for everyday wear. Our advice: only size down if your feet are narrow and your usual size feels loose at the toe after a few wears. The leather softens across the width over time, but the length won't change.

• Narrow feet: true to size.
• Regular feet: true to size. Expect a snug fit at first.
• Wide feet: half a size up.

The same rule covers collaborations such as the Wales Bonner x adidas Samba Pony Leopard. The women's-only Sambae has its own platform shape, and adidas says those wanting a wider fit should go up half a size.

adidas Gazelle and Gazelle Indoor sizing

adidas says the Gazelle "generally fits true to size" but leans "towards the roomy side", with "a more forgiving, roomier fit than other true to size adidas models". For the Gazelle Indoor, adidas says the same principles apply: go half a size down if you like a snug fit, or stay true to size if you have wide feet or want some wiggle room. SoleFeed also rates the Gazelle Indoor true to size, though it notes the forefoot can feel narrow and suggests wide feet take the larger size if in doubt.

• Narrow feet: half a size down.
• Regular feet: true to size.
• Wide feet: true to size.

Examples include the Bad Bunny x adidas Gazelle Indoor San Juan and the adidas Gazelle All Black Silver Metallic.

adidas Campus 00s sizing

The Campus 00s has a reputation for running big, but most guides don't support that. adidas lists it as true to size, and Captain Creps, WOOVIN and SneakerLens all say the same. Captain Creps advises against going even half a size down because the shoe would be "much too short". WOOVIN adds that if your true size isn't available, go half a size up rather than down.

The "runs big" feeling comes from the chunky padding and wide upper. Captain Creps notes the upper is slightly wider than the Campus 80s, and WOOVIN describes a narrow toe box with a relatively wide fit through the rest of the foot. The padded collar and tongue feel tight at first and loosen after a few wears.

• Narrow feet: true to size and lace firmly, or half a size down if you get heel slip.
• Regular feet: true to size.
• Wide feet or high insteps: half a size up, as SneakerLens suggests, because the toe box is low.

Handball Spezial and SL 72 sizing

Handball Spezial: adidas recommends your usual size, and WOOVIN and SoleFeed agree. The sources disagree on width: WOOVIN calls the shape relatively narrow, while SoleFeed rates it the roomiest of the Samba, Gazelle and Spezial trio. Both say wide feet should go up half a size. SL 72: RunRepeat's lab review says the SL 72 fits true to size in length, based on 98 owner votes, but measured one of the narrowest forefoots it has tested. SoleFeed goes further and says the SL 72 OG runs slightly small and narrow. Stay true to size with narrow or regular feet, and go half a size up with wide feet. The SL 72 RS has a wider toe box than the OG. Examples include the Bob Marley x adidas SL 72 Yellow and the Bob Marley x adidas SL72 RS One Love.

adidas vs Nike sizing

adidas and Nike US sizes are close in length, but the labels differ. Always compare by US men's size, not UK or EU.

• UK: an adidas US 9 is a UK 8.5, while a Nike US 9 is a UK 8. Going off the UK number can leave you half a size out.
• EU: adidas uses thirds (42 2/3), while Nike uses halves (42.5).
• Foot length: both brands put a US 9 at about 26.2 to 26.3 cm, so your Nike US size carries straight across.

adidas women's sizing

On the adidas chart, US women's is exactly one size above US men's: a women's 9 is a men's 8. Nike's gap is 1.5 sizes, so don't copy a Nike conversion across. Most Sambas, Gazelles and Campus 00s are unisex and listed in men's sizes. To find yours, subtract one from your women's size. Women's releases such as the adidas OG Samba Forest Green (W) and the Gazelle Indoor Blue Fusion Gum (W) are shown the same way, so the fit advice above still applies. How to measure your foot

1. Put a sheet of paper on a hard floor, against a wall.
2. Stand on it with your heel against the wall, wearing the socks you usually wear.
3. Mark the tip of your longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark in centimetres.
4. Repeat with the other foot and use the longer measurement.
5. Find that length in the chart above, then apply the advice for your model and foot width.

Measure later in the day, when your feet are at their largest. If you land between two sizes, take the larger one, especially for the Samba and SL 72.
