This 'Year of the Horse' Kobe 8 Protro honours the friendship between Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. Its equestrian details refer to a 2012 charity auction where the two teammates bid against each other for a thoroughbred racehorse called Sempre Mio.
Tan suede covers the low-top upper, and the outer Swoosh is brown pony hair. A powder blue suede overlay wraps the heel, covered with decorative stitching. Each tongue carries Kobe's Sheath logo, and horseshoe lace dubraes read 'Siempre Hermanos', Spanish for 'Always Brothers'. React foam, dropped into the midsole, cushions the ride, and the red and blue translucent outsole shows off a glass-based carbon fibre shank.
