The ASICS Gel-Kayano 14 first released in 2008 as a stability running shoe. Its layered, metallic look, inspired by technical running shoes of the 2000s, made it one of the most popular retro runners of recent years.
The ASICS Gel-Kayano 14 "Birch Dark Pewter" pairs an airy cream mesh upper in Birch with metallic silver synthetic leather overlays in Dark Pewter. Dark green stripes swoop across the side panel, and ASICS branding sits on the tongue, heel and sockliner. This version features a sustainably dyed sockliner; the dyeing process uses 35 percent less water and reduces carbon emissions by up to 45 percent. An EVA foam midsole houses visible GEL cushioning in the forefoot and heel, and the rubber outsole includes a TPU shank called the TRUSSTIC support system. The cream and silver palette works with light denim, grey trackpants and neutral outfits. Every pair is checked for authenticity before it ships, and shipping is free on every NZ order.
